THE WAY UP
by Robert Anthony
Destiny never smiled upon idle hopes or wistful fantasy
And faith is the engine which pursues purpose and outpaces regret.
Remember, patience is a gift, it will bring comfort during long and weary days
And there will be long and weary days…
The rains will come, the winds will blow and the floods will rise
But then the daybreak, moments that will take your breath away
Wisdom whispers to you, endure the storms and celebrate the victories
And yes, there will be victories along the way…
Your days of youth and ambition will be traded away without permission
But in all the striving, victory and defeat, seek the thing most precious
The mystery. It's life. Life everlasting...
Your soul will need to be persuaded some days, so find some rest
Allow yourself that space, and time, quiet moments needed for convincing
And you’ll return, and when you do, shout it from the mountaintops...
"Live!"
And surely thy soul shall live…
