THE WAY UP (Part Two)
by Robert Anthony
You say you want it to be easier?
But you don’t really mean that
You were made to overcome
You were made for the heights, to conquer mountains.
Why else are your favorite stories of under-dog men who defeated the odds?
They who showed their generations what is possible to those who can endure
If it wasn’t a challenge, you’d get bored
Your muscles would atrophy and your senses would dull
Stand and be counted, Men!
Whether you realize it or not, you signed up for this
This is sure to be our finest hour
Can you see yet? that Light up ahead!
What is that glory? We wonder, if it can be reached...
Keep going Men. Climb higher. I know you're weary.
The weariness comes and goes. Persevere. Climb higher.
These rewards, they come without regret
Then, you can look them in the eyes and say without flinching
"I ran my race, I climbed my mountain
I gave it my all, and this is my story (my great victory)"
It’s not over unless you quit. Let not your heart falter
There is a victory in never crying, “Defeat!”
Have you lost your soul?
Well, Go and take it back!
Have you dismayed? Have you lost heart?
Even the best of us grow weary, and lose heart
Forget those losses of a time passed. Be glorious today.
Give yourself something to be proud of
There is a redeeming of the time. Let it start now.
(This yet another thing hidden in our God.)
I would tell you of the mystery, what is to be revealed
But that’s better to be lived than it is to be written
It's up around the bend, hiding behind the branches
Keep going. Keep seeking. Keep asking.
The moments of revelation and awe come as a reward to the children of hope
Look upward. The mountaintop.... it calls to you.
Your story isn’t over yet.
